Charlie Hudon, was born in Zenon Park on March 12th, 1950. He met Marianne Baier in February of 1974, and on December 21st of that year they eloped in Nipawin.
They had two children, Jacqueline and Marc. A proud father, Charlie was always willing to help, support, and guide his children with whatever they needed.
Charlie was a dedicated alderman on town council for 12 years where he spearheaded and helped plant a lot of the trees that are enjoyed in Zenon Park today. In addition to farming leaf cutter bees with his wife, he spent over 20 years as a custodian and a bus driver at Zenon Park School, a job he loved because of the kids. He started grain farming later in his life and this was the vocation that brought him the most joy.
Since retiring in 2015, Charlie had discovered a joy of woodworking, spending many hours developing his skills on a lathe. He enjoyed camping and fishing with friends, playing cards, sipping a glass of port, puttering in his garden, and playing with his grandchildren, but most of all he loved working on projects with Marc.
Nothing made Charlie happier than chatting with someone over a cup of coffee, and he would regularly pop by the homes of his friends and family throughout the day. Charlie really loved people. He was always available to help anyone who needed it, often helping someone else ahead of getting his own work done.
In the Fall of 2020, Charlie was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. He spent his last winter teaching his son some carpentry skills while building a cabin together in the bush. Charlie passed away peacefully at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon on Friday, June 11th, from complications of Covid-19. His children, daughter-in-law, and wife of 46 years were by his side.
Charlie was predeceased by his parents Jean-Charles and Pauline, his sister Bridgette Seabrook, his brother in laws: Al Williams, Peter Dufour, Carl Ellingsen, Keith Stanhope, and his sister-in-law Marie Hudon.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Marianne Hudon; his daughter, Jacqueline Hudon (Kelly); his grandson Félix Hudon-Verrelli; his son, Marc Hudon (Jessica); his grandchildren Levy, Alexandria, and Zoé;his siblings Georgette Hudon, Delphine Williams, Alain Hudon, and Charlotte Hudon.
