Albert Wayne Wallington was born January 17, 1947 in Nipawin, Sk. He was the youngest of three children, born to Arnold and Violet Wallington; to his older sisters, Shirley and Muriel, a great brother he was.
He was brought home to the family farm from the hospital, and there he would reside for the rest of his days. Right from the beginning, farming was a true passion of Albert’s. Through his life he would be known for many grand things, one being the great crops of registered seed that he received many accolades for.
From the time he was 16 years old, and every day for the next 58 crop seasons, farming brought him immense pride and joy; Not to mention, in the last few years, extending a helping hand by driving combine for Wall Family Farms. If it wasn’t farming, it was enjoying time with friends and family, hunting, playing cards, hockey, drinking coffee, or watching chuck wagon races that took him to his happy place.
Albert met his wife, Dianne (Gillert) in 1966. They were married in 1968, and by 1975 their family was complete with three sons; Robert, Randy and Richard. This brought on busy but rewarding times as his boys kept him going with camping, boating, seeding, harvest, and everything in between.
Albert cherished his lifelong friendships, and the Sunday’s that were designated for family time; They made many memories with Waldo, Florence, Dennis, Susan, Jamie, Shannon and Jason. On every other day, he could be found on coffee row.
His greatest joys, came later in life when he became a grandpa. He always looked forward to the endless sleepovers, baseball and hockey games, dance recitals, and gymnastics.
Passing on his wisdom to Cameron and Josh while combining in the fall always brought a smile to his face. Watching Harper, Karter, Kenzie and Chelsea dance was something he never missed. Hockey games for Raydr and Kooper always made him happy. Johnny brought out his sense of humour and made him chuckle, the way only Papa did. An opportunity to play a game of crib with Rylee was seldom passed up. He truly loved all of his grandchildren.
Albert was predeceased by his parents Arnold and Violet Wallington, father and mother-in-law Waldo and Florence Gillert, and his sister Muriel Wallington.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 52 years, Dianne; his son Robert (Amanda) and their children Raydr, Kooper and Karter; his son Randy (Melissa) and their children Cameron, Kenzie and Harper; his son Richard (Connie) and their children Rylee (Mark), Chelsea, Joshua and Johnathon; his sister Shirley (Harvey); his brother-in-law Dennis (Susan) along with his niece and nephews Jamie (Allison), Shannon (Randall) and Jason (Vicki) with their respective families.
We would like to thank everyone who has been a part of Albert’s life. He loved every minute of his time on earth and he would not have changed a thing.
