Eric Louis Anderson was born October 16, 1923 on the family farm,
SE 4-49-13. He was Olaf and Sophie Anderson’s oldest son and firstborn child. He died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on November 23, 2019.
Eric grew up on the family farm west of Aylsham. He completed all of his schooling to Grade 12 in Aylsham. He farmed with his brothers, Jim and Carl, until he retired in 1990.
On June 27, 1953, Eric and Irene (Kinzel) were married and lived on their farm west of Aylsham until their move to Nipawin in the spring of 2008. When not working, they both had a sense of adventure and loved to travel. Eric and Irene started travelling to Mexico in the late 1960s. There they spent many memorable winters enjoying the warmth of the weather, learning the culture, and exploring the country.
Closer to home, Eric and Irene built a cabin at East Trout Lake in the mid-1960s where they had good times for many years. They built their cabin in a beautiful spot that looked out onto the lake. It was their home away from home. Eric looked forward to spending time at the lake each and every year - the more time, the better.
Eric was a lifelong learner and did his very best with every endeavor he set out to complete. He strove for excellence no matter what the role or goal: farmer, master carpenter and craftsman, or learning languages. But all of this was done in quietness and with great humility.
Eric was a kind, compassionate and generous man throughout his life. He was a faithful member of the Nipawin Lutheran Church for many years.
Eric was predeceased by his wife, Irene; parents, Olaf and Sophie; brothers, Jim and Carl.
Left to treasure his memory are his loving sister, Doris Lawrence and family, Jim (Janet), Rod (Linda), Doug (Debbie), and JoAnn (Mark); sisters-in-law, Lorna Anderson and family, Rick (Trish), and Ron (Maddie); and Margaret Anderson and family, Kari (Dave), and Bob (Gwen). Nephews, Milton (Sharon) Kinzel and Brian (Lynn) Kinzel; niece, Gail Robertson. As well, many great nieces and nephews, and good friends.
