George Sholter went to be with his Lord in the early morning of August 1st, 2018 at the age of 85. He was born on the family farm south of Nipawin on April 24th, 1933 to John and Mary (Hluchaniuk) Sholter.
George grew up on the farm and attended a country school close by. He started farming at the age of 21. He worked in Saskatoon, Edmonton and Choiceland during the winter months. Being a man of faith he enjoyed the fellowship at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
In 1975 he met the love of his life Gertrude Woelk. They were introduced by a mutual friend and married shortly after on April 3, 1976. Farming now became a partnership on NE 9-50-14 W2. They also enjoyed travelling to different parts of Canada, the U.S., Mexico and Cuba. In 1995 George and Gertrude decided to retire from farming.
