Marjorie Isabell Thesen, 89 years of age, passed away peacefully at Nipawin with family by her side, on January 31st, 2018. She was the wife of Harold Thesen. They shared 68 years together.
Born in "Old Arborfield" in 1928, Marjorie was the daughter of Henry and Isabell Cummings. She attended school in Arborfield.
Marjorie received Jesus as her personal Lord and Saviour at a young age and went to the Gospel Hall in Arborfield all her life. Her desire was to share her love for the Lord with all of her family and friends.
Marjorie was a fantastic cook, especially known for her famous buns, chocolate cake and apple pie. When asked for a recipe, she would say, "just add flour until it looks right". She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and growing flowers in her garden. Her home was always open for coffee, sweets and visiting.
Marjorie and Harold started the tradition of going to Waskesiu Lake very early on in their marriage. They continued to travel to Waskesiu right up until the summer of 2017, where most of the family joined them for a nice time together. They also enjoyed winter vacations in Yuma, Arizona. They would pull their fifth wheel trailer, and stay right on the desert with some of their siblings and friends.
Marjorie is survived by her husband Harold, children Barry (Suzanne), Jeannie (Garth), Dwight (Carmen), Grant (Beatrice), Katherine (Ken), Kevin (Eva), Patti (Mike),
29 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren, brothers Elmer (Peggy), Garth (Lorraine) and sister Jean (Lloyd).
Marjorie was predeceased by her parents Henry and Isabell Cummings, brother Vernon, sister-in-law Muriel Cummings, brother-in-law Norman Thesen.
