DOROTHY EILEEN LARVICK was born on August 31 1922 in Darmody, Sask to Josephine and Delmar McNeely. She passed away on October 9th 2017 in Nipawin hospital surrounded by loving family. She lived 95 unselfish years and taught us all so much. She was best known as the “cookie grandma”. She was able to bake cookies, cinnamon buns, lemon tarts, fruit relish and so much more for her friends and family; including her great, great grandchildren. Her heart must have been the size of a basketball, to be loved so much by so many.
Grandma Dot was raised in Moose jaw, Sask and got married October 1943 to Clarence Larvick. They spent nearly 30 years on the farm, raising 3 beautiful girls. They sold the farm and moved to BC in the early 70’s. In June 1990 they moved back to Saskatchewan residing in Nipawin then to Carrot River a few years later. Grandma lost her husband Clarence to cancer in October, 2000. She lived on her own for the remaining 17 years of her life. She had a special connection with all the others who lived in North Star Lodge as she had coffee with them every morning and always seemed to know what was happening on facebook.
We were fortunate to have celebrated many of grandma’s birthdays, especially her 95th birthday this summer. She enjoyed many trips to Moose Jaw to see her daughter Judy and Family.
Grandma will be missed and forever remembered by her 3 daughters; Linda, Judy and Claire, 10 Grandchildren, 17 Great grandchildren and 3.5 great great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband Clarence, her parents, one sister, 3 brothers, 2 son in laws and one granddaughter.
