Brad was born February 6, 1981, the oldest and only son to Dennis and Gloria. He grew up on the family farm near Aylsham spending many hours in the pig barn with his Dad, Baba and Uncle and then later helping his Dad in the fields. After graduation he moved away to go to welding school and set out on his own. He worked in a number of places meeting people who would become lifelong friends and it was at one of these jobs in Edmonton where he met Jae. They were married in November of 2006; "a stupid time for a wedding". They moved to Cold Lake and were blessed three times with Emily born in 2008, Shayla in 2010 and Nolan in 2014. He loved his kids and was their biggest supporter. He was so proud watching them play hockey, ball or soccer. He built a space in the garage, the Kozun Cage, for them to practice their hockey year round. He camped every year with his family in the summer and loved fishing with them. He loved golf and took the kids out when he could or went out with his Dad, sisters and his in-laws often. He returned home to help his Dad on the farm every year except for the years his kids were born. He loved the farming life especially harvest and loved driving the combines with his Dad, Uncles and Aunt. He was a huge fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs with Shayla joining him. The house was divided when the Leafs and Oilers would play, with Brad and Shayla vs Jae and Emily and Nolan bouncing between the two. Over the last few years he became a huge fan of the Lakeland Jaguars as well, cheering on Emily and Shayla whenever he could. He loved his family immensely, both immediate and extended. He looked forward to Ukrainian Christmas and sharing the tradition of his childhood with his kids.
Brad was an amazing friend, nephew, brother, son, husband and father. He was generous and kind and always willing to help those he loved in any way he could. He will never be forgotten and will live on forever in the hearts of those that loved him and the memories those have to cherish.
Brad leaves to treasure his memory his family, Jae, Emily, Shayla and Nolan, his mother Gloria, his sister Erin, sister Liane and brother in law Curtis Day and nephew Zac. Also left to mourn his passing are his aunts and uncles Merle and Lorrie Kozun, Andy and Helen Kozun, Lionel and Cheryl Kozun, Carolyn and Dave Korpach, Joe and Janice Vilcu, Mark and Lucy Vilcu, grandpa Nick Vilcu, in-laws Terry and Leanne Schroh, Brianne and Chad Stewart, Brett and Jenn Schroh, Jenna Schroh and Kevin Rogers, seven nieces Brayden, Kendra, Charlee, Madison, Elliette, Lillian and Blake as well as numerous cousins who he loved dearly.
He was predeceased by his dad Dennis, Gido Nick, Baba Jean and Grandma Mary.
