Henry, son of Henry E. and Maria Doerksen, was born on October 31, 1921.
Henry met the love of his life, Katherina Peters, at the Chapel in the Pines in the Murphy Creek district; they were married on November 3, 1942. Henry and Tina moved to John Janzen's logging camp in Forte A La Corne to make railway ties for a living.
In the spring of 1946, Henry bought the S. E. 24 - 49 - 17 W2, and he and Tina moved there with their cow, calf, horses and chickens to start mixed farming.
Henry continued to work in various logging camps during the winter. He spent much time in Fort A La Corne, Cumberland and north of Nipawin. He worked in the bush at Flin Flon and also worked for the mine there. During the spring, summer and fall, he would be working on the farm. He also spent time working as a carpenter for Peter Hryhor of Nipawin.
In the fall of 1979, Henry and Tina moved into Nipawin and semi retired.
Henry's faith in Jesus Christ was very important to him. While a resident at Pineview Lodge in Nipawin, Henry twice experienced an encounter with his Lord and Saviour. He was at peace and wanted everyone to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Henry was predeceased by his loving wife, Tina, and parents, Henry and Maria (nee Neufeld) Doerksen, as well as three sisters: Tina Doerksen, Elizabeth Remple, Mary Reimer and Brothers In Law: John Doerksen, Dick Remple, Henry Reimer, Ron Mlazgar, Henry Remple, Bill Remple and Cecil Person.
Left to treasure his memory are five sisters: Anne Remple, Jessie Doerksen, Lena (Klaus) Peters, Gai (Albert) Robinson, Sarah (Les) Lokken as well as many nephews and nieces.
