Eileen Mckay (a.k.a. Mischakonuk) was born December 16, 1960 at
Red Earth in the deep snow to Robert (Isaac) and Victoria Nawakayas. She passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on April 2, 2019 surrounded by family and friends at the Nipawin Hospital.
Eileen was united in marriage to Dennis (Rice Crispy) Mckay and they were blessed with five daughters.
Eileen took her schooling at the Red Earth Elementary up to grade seven and spent most of her time looking after her cousins from the Nawakayas family whom she came to adopt as her own.
Eileen leaves a legacy which was passed down to her by her parents and now to her daughters in preparing wild meat, smoking meat, pemmican and making bannock. She enjoyed the outdoors; camping at Thunder Rapids and mushroom picking at the mushroom camp at Torch River. Eileen also liked doing crossword puzzles.
Eileen is survived by her three daughters: April Mckay, Raissa (Edalaine) Thompson, Kimberly (Jonas) Head, Wanda (Carmen) Bear and Leva Mckay; her adopted children: Marlene (Rex) Whitehead, Ernest (Carol) Mckay, Velma (Shem) Mckay, Noreen Moore; her grandchildren: Klima, Jalon, Rossman, Dennez, Jim, Gino Kitchener, Mildred Lathlin and grand-dog Banana; her sister Zelda (Darrell) Young; her aunties: Caroline (Patrick) Young and Arabella Nawakayas; her cousins: Thelma Daniels and Robert Nawakayas; adopted siblings: Dexter (Donna), Dean (Colleen), Alphone (Josephine), Don (Brenda), Calvin (Rosabelle), Everette (Clarissa) Nawakayas, Wendy (Gregory) Whitehead, Judy (Clayton) Head; her brother in law Wallace Mckay, and in laws Clifford (Rhoda) Bear and Norman Head.
Eileen was predeceased by her husband Dennis Mckay; her parents Robert and Victoria Nawakayas; her sisters: Yvonne (Leonard) Daniels, Camelia Mckay and Mary (Noel) Young; her brother Jeremiah Nawakayas; adopted parents George ( Elizabeth) Nawakayas and Arnold (Delia)Nawakayas; her uncles: Cornelius (Jean) and Arthur (Arabella) Nawakayas; her auntie Emma (Willard) Brittain; her grandparents Charlie (Emily) Mckay and Lazarus (Caroline) Nawakayas; her in laws Amos (Evelyn) Mckay and Mary Ann Head, her brother in law Walter Mckay, cousins: Kelly and Mark Nawakayas.
