Brenda was born on February 4th, 1961 in Arborfield, SK. Brenda grew up with many siblings. She was the second child of Charlie and Georgina Govenlock.
Brenda went to school in Arborfield and upon graduation attended Saskatoon Business College where she received her Office Administration Certificate. She spent most of her working career at the Arborfield Dehy.
Brenda married Bryan Lindsay in June of 84. Brenda and Bryan enjoyed going to various lakes or heading back to the shack in the bush for weekend get-a-ways. They have two children Mandy and Dustin. After they had their children their lake and bush trips became family trips where many cherished memories were made. Brenda was a dedicated mother and spent many hours as a volunteer or spectator in the skating rink, at ball diamonds or in the school gym watching her children’s various sports. She may have inherited her love for hockey from her dad, as she grew up watching him coach hockey, and her brothers and Bryan play. When Dustin was young, he started hockey and her passion for the game continued. In the last few years, you could still find Brenda at the rink cheering on her nephews, or more recently her great nieces and nephews.
Brenda became a grandmother in 2007 when her first granddaughter, Meila was born. Brenda welcomed two more granddaughters, Calli, in 2009 and Kolby in 2015. Brenda’s joy for hockey was now shared with her joy of watching her granddaughters dance at competitions and recitals.
In 2018 Brenda was blessed with her first grandson Zack. She was excited to now have a grandson, to pass on all of Dustin’s Tonka trucks that she had saved.
There was nothing in the world that was more important to Brenda than her grandchildren. She loved them dearly and was so proud to share pictures and stories of her grandkids to anyone and everyone.
Brenda was predeceased by her parents, Charlie & Georgina Govenlock; step mother Betty Govenlock; brothers, Ivan Quinnell and Scott Govenlock; sister, Joan Nelson; and nephews Marc Quinnell, and Brodie Zagoruy.
