• Janis was born in Prince Albert, SK on April 11, 1958. She was lovingly taken in by Mary and John Morris. Janis was a shy, introverted little girl with bright blond hair and blue eyes.

Janis grew up on the family farm just outside Carrot River with her older brother and younger sister. Janis attended school in Carrot River for many years, and then moved on to LP Miller High School where she graduated in 1976.

After graduation, Janis moved to Edmonton where she later met her husband Bradley Lewis. Janis took on many careers while in the city such as a bus driver, limo driver, house cleaner and some retail store positions.

Janis and Bradley were married in the summer of 2000. In 2001, they welcomed their daughter Ashley, and not long after in 2002, their son Kyler. The family later moved back to Janis’s hometown of Carrot River where they spent some years before settling in Nipawin.

Janis was a hard worker but in her spare time, she enjoyed many hobbies such as baking, playing board games, photography, and spending time with her beloved Chihuahuas. Janis was a huge animal lover, so much that she would not let her children kill any bugs or spiders that were found in their home, but instead, let them outside.

Janis was able to make the best of any situation and always somehow made things work.

Janis was predeceased by her parents, Mary and John Morris, sister, Jo-Anne Morris, and son, Kyler Lewis. She is survived by her daughter, Ashley Lewis (Eric Stromme), and granddaughter, Breez Lewis, her brother Rick Morris (Pam Morris), her nieces and nephews, Rylan, Brett, Brenna, Rayna, Rachel, Jett, Trinity, Matthew and Kelley, along with all of her friends who became family.
