Joy Tebbutt passed away surrounded by the love and care of her family on July 5, 2019, at Nipawin.
Born in southern Saskatchewan, the third child of Fred and Ann Agur, Joy grew up in the Torch River district, a place she often spoke of fondly. Her work life began in Prince Albert, and later, she moved to Nipawin where she met a handsome young farmer at church. Mom and Dad formed a lifelong union, and she was a key part of his success as a farmer and seed grower.
Joy was a homemaker in the truest sense: she made a home for us at “the yellow house,” and we were the beneficiaries of her love, care, and hard work. She was fiercely independent and extremely private. Mom lived a long life, and with help from family and special friends, she was able to remain in her beloved home until a year ago. Last July, she moved to Pineview Lodge where she spent the last year of her life.
Joy will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her daughter, Glorie; son, Gregg; daughter-in-law, Lana; grandchildren, Gillian and Blake (Bailey); brother-in-law, Wayne Tebbutt; sister-in-law, Eileen Tebbutt; and nieces, nephews, and special friends. She was
predeceased by her husband, Ron; her parents; and her two siblings, Nora and Leslie; sister-in-law, Lilly; and brother-in-law, Arling Tebbutt.
The family would like to acknowledge and express their deep gratitude to Mom’s family physician, Dr. Francis, and the staff at Pineview Lodge for their exemplary care.
