Calvin John Chalus was born on March 27, 1957. He was the fourth child of John and Barbara (Von Bieker) Chalus. His father recalled the night he was born as being very stormy.
As a young lad he pitched many a bale and did numerous chores on the farm. He even tried his hand at rodeo.
Upon graduating he worked at Beaver Lumber for many years. After the closure of the Preecville store, which he managed, Cal moved on to Calgary to work in construction. He continued working as a courier before returning home in 1991 after the passing of his mother, Barbara. Cal resided with his father John on the farm north of White Fox. There is where his passion for antiques started.
In 2004 his son Morgan John was born. The time Cal spent with his son was treasured.
Cal took pleasure in feeding and observing the wildlife around the farm; mostly the deer in winter and turkey vultures in the spring. Many Septembers were spent bucking up wood for the cold winters ahead.
Left to mourn Cal’s passing is: his son, Morgan, father, John, sisters, Sherry, Nancy and Tammy (Carl), brothers, Dwayne (Laurie), Rodney (Theresa), Steve, Richard, George (Val), numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by his mother Barbara Ann and great nephew Baby Shawn Chalus-Shortt.
