Don Sobush of Smeaton Saskatchewan, passed away December 26,2020 in Nipawin Hospital after a short battle with cancer.
Don was born July 11, 1939 on a farm in Southern Saskatchewan. In his early years he worked in the oil fields in near his home. He moved to Slave Lake Alberta to work with the department of highways before returning to oil field work. After he retired from the oil field’s he and his loving partner May Lamberty settled on an acreage near Smeaton. Don’s passion for operating heavy machinery had him back in a grader working for the RM of Torch River until a few months before his passing. Don was known for his love of animals, hunting and fishing as well as his quick wit and sense of humor. He is survived by his loving partner May, his daughter Joan Nistor (Kurt) of Carlyle, son Travis Hall (Carmin) of Lethbridge AB, daughter Cecile Deloizer(Tom) of Bismarck ND, sister Jeanette Slager (Robert) of Carndiff. Seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He has a loving extended family who, along with the immediate family will miss him greatly.
A small family gathering will be held at a later date.
