Abram Schapansky was born on May 12, 1940 in Carrot River, SK to Catherine and Jake Schapansky. He passed away June 15, 2018 in Carrot River at the age
Abe was raised on the family farm in the Woodchuk District. He was the second youngest of five children. At a young age he went to Saskatoon and worked at Monarch Lumber Company for a year. He returned to Carrot River and was employed locally, driving truck and operating heavy equipment. In 1968 he began working at the tire shop for his brother Ed. He worked there for 32 years until his retirement.
Abe thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, welding and woodworking. Although he did not have children of his own he enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. Abe treasured visits with his neighbours and friends.
Abe was predeceased by his parents Jake and Catherine Schapansky, his sister Mary Steptoe (Gerald), brother James (Rosalyn), nephew Kevin, brother Ed and sister Judy Shelton (Don). He is survived by his sister-in-law Mavis Schapansky as well as several nieces and nephews.
