Doreen Isabel Wassill passed away peacefully on June 19, 2020 at New Market Manor in Tisdale, SK. at 90 years of age.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Lawrence, and their five children: Debbie Lalonde (Maurice), Vanessa Berry (Jasen), and Holden, Danee Haines (Claye); Shirley Wassill-Wiltzen (Hugh), Evan, Brennan, and Jenna; Brian (Pam), Camryn, and Jared; Daryl; Trent (Tanya), Chandra, Derek, and Nate.
Doreen was born February 24, 1930 in Kerrobert, SK. to Alfred and Hilda Reinhart. She was raised in that area until she moved to Saskatoon to obtain her Grade 11 and 12 schooling followed by her teaching certificate from Saskatoon Teacher’s College. She was a dedicated teacher and spoke fondly of her students. She married Lawrence Wassill on August 1, 1959 and moved to Zenon Park where they raised their family. In April 2016, they moved to Caleb Village where she resided until moving into long-term care last August.
Doreen was predeceased by her parents Alfred and Hilda Reinhart; brothers Mervin (age 9) and Delbert Reinhart; sisters Shirley Reinhart and Phyllis Redl; infant grandson Alex Wassill and numerous in-laws and extended family members.
