Jacob Harry Peters passed from this life on March 9, with his wife Laura at his side.
Harry was the second child of Corny and Sara Peters. He was born July 8, 1941 at the Lady Grey Hospital in Nipawin. He grew up in the Lost River area where he attended Newfield School until grade 8.
In 1968 he married Laura Schellenberg. They spent the first 5 years of their marriage living in the Fort a la Corne doing bush work. Harry tried farming for a short time and found it was not for him! He was quite elated when his combine burned and opened the door for other opportunities. In 1975 He bought his building moving equipment from John Brown and he and Laura, along with their girls, moved to the family homestead where he grew up. They had 3 daughters; Allisson, Gwen, and Virginia.
Harry loved moving buildings, and all that came with it, especially the people. He loved going for coffee and spent many hours socializing at the Dairy Queen. He always had time for old friends, and room in his heart for new ones.
When Harry became a grandparent he found more time for family get-togethers and cherished time with his grandchildren. He learned to love camping. He enjoyed reading his bible, and was involved in the function of the Bethany Mennonite Church, where he and Laura were baptized in 1970. In 2016 they moved to their cabin at Wapiti Valley where he enjoyed living until he moved to Pineview Lodge in October 2018.
Harry is predeceased by his parents Cornelius and Sara Peters, Parents in Law David and Lydia Schellenberg, brother in law Gordon Wilmot, Sister in law Brita Lepine, and grandsons Keagan and Lucas Ens.
