Grace “Gracie” Lucinda Sewap was born at Red Earth, SK, on September 15, 1956. She married Frank Sewap in Shoal Lake and they were blessed with 5 children. She passed away peacefully with family by her side at Prince Albert Herb Bassett Home on April 29, 2018.
Grace enjoyed volunteering her time preparing traditional food and wild meat. She enjoyed reading true story books, listening to country music, setting puzzles, playing cards, bingo, dice games, and played slo-pitch.
Grace finished grade 8 at L.P. Miller in Nipawin. She spent most of her life travelling to different places with her husband by her side. They travelled as far as the States for apple picking. She went to live at the Kinistino Jubilee Lodge. She then moved to the Prince Albert Herb Bassett Home to be cared for and resided there until her passing. The staff and members of Kinistino Jubilee Lodge & Herb Bassett called her “Gracie”. She was very loved and well cared for during her stay there.
Grace is survived her Children: Derek (June) Young and children, Christie Sewap and children, Carol Sewap and children, & Freddie (Carrieann) Sewap and children, Brothers: Harry (Dora) Young, Carl (Lori) Young, Sisters: Laura Lathlin, Clara (Ronnie) Head, In Laws: Reta Nawakayas, Annette (Vernon) Nawakayas, Grace’s adopted son: Carlson Young and many other in law relationships too numerous to mention.
Grace is predeceased by her husband: Frank Sewap, daughter: Stephanie Sewap, her parents: Fred & Caroline Young, Grandparents: (Maternal) Francis & Lucy Daniels, (Paternal) Fred SR & Mariam Young, Grandchildren: Stillborn Baby Sewap (Christie), 5 Stillborn Babies (Carol) and other grandchildren too numerous to mention, Siblings: Frances Young & Vivian Young, In Laws: Lucius Nawakayas, Orville Head, Eric Lathlin, Father In Law: Pierre Sewap, Mother In Law: Christie Sewap, Brother In Law: George Sewap, Sisters In Law: Isabelle Sewap, Flora Sewap, Freda George, & Erna Sewap. She was also predeceased by other family members and in-laws too numerous to mention.
