Glyness was born July 22, 1954 in Smeaton to Harry and Betty Pagan. She was raised on the family farm north of Snowden, taking her elementary schooling in Snowden and high school in Choiceland.
After graduating she moved to Portage la Prairie to attend the School of Psychiatric Nursing. In 1977 she became a R.P.N. and began her career in Red Deer, Alberta. She retired in 2010 and moved back to Saskatchewan, first to Choiceland and then to her parents’ farm home after the passing of her mother in 2016.
Her hobbies included Sudoku, reading and gardening both flowers and vegetables; but retirement and outdoor living on the farm with fresh air, peace and quiet was what she enjoyed the most. Helping (spoiling) Greg with his animals and busy life was important to her. She did everything to try to make his life as easy as she could, and loved every minute of it. She was a generous, kind and caring lady who put everyone else “first” and never wanted to be made a fuss over. She preferred to pamper others and deflected any attention directed to her, to someone else.
She became a “mom” to her special “furbabies” Kodi and Kaci who were adopted from the Humboldt S.P.C.A. They were her pride and joy. Her home reflects how much she thought of them by the toy box heaping with toys and another basket loaded with assorted and various bones to chew on. Her first worry when she became ill was of them, and how they would be cared for. She was so grateful to her family who took turns looking after them this past summer and fall. When she realized that she would be unable to return home she worried about what would happen to her “babies”. She was so comforted with Greg’s reassurance that she shouldn’t be troubled about that, and they would be cared for – promising, “We will make it work.” A promise that will be kept.
Glyness was predeceased by her parents Harry and Betty Pagan; grandparents Edward and Amy Pagan, Chris and Etta Robinson; many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
She is survived by her brother Greg, aunts Dorothy, Hazel and Bev, Uncle Roy (Marion), many cousins , and special friends.
