Lawrence Edmund Lathlin was born on March 16, 1956, at Carrot River Union Hospital. He passed away peacefully at Royal University Hospital with his family and friends by his side. Lawrence met Delilah and they were united in marriage on November 15, 1974 and they were blessed with eight children.
Lawrence was a loving caring very kind hearted man who showed this by greeting with everyone he met and walked into his life. Dad was always ready to help in the community whenever and wherever help was needed, he was one of the graveyard diggers for our community and had a chance to lead and encourage them in what to do. He loved making pies with his wife Delilah to show that they wanted to help the community. Lawrence also enjoyed doing a number of outdoor and indoor cultural activities with his wife, family and friends. He would enter fishing and golf tournaments with his family and friends, dad also enjoyed going hunting with his brothers. Lawrence liked to listen to gospel music by various singers, especially to our very own talented singer Steven Head.
In 1997, both of our parents went on a trip to Vegas with a group of people from both communities Shoal Lake and Red Earth.
Lawrence attended school at L.P. Miller in Nipawin and finished his education up to grade eight. He made sure his family and friends knew this when they were playing crib with them. After leaving school he moved back home to be with his family and friends. Later he furthered his education in carpentry and finished up to level 3 and became a carpenter. Lawrence worked with various men from our community and one special man Stan Chometsky. He also went to school for plumbing. Lawrence was also an Elder to the Education Commission and sat on various committees.
Lawrence met Della Whitehead 2 ½ years ago and they would have celebrated their union in October 2018. Lawrence and Della planned to get married on July 20th, 2018 and both sides of the families were anticipating their wedding.
